Financial Controller Job Requirements and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the development of and support the company’s strategic plans for both wholesale and retail assets

    • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information

    • Manage the company's financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, as well as other financial reports and analysis as required

  • Develop and manage the company's budgeting and forecasting processes

  • Develop and manage financial, inventory and security controls in accordance with the company’s procedures

  • Communicate financial metrics to senior management

  • Provide leadership and support to accounts receivable and accounts payable departments

  • Manage the preparation of payroll for personnel

  • Keep up-to-date on current HR trends

  • Provides thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate.

Qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline

  • [MUST HAVE] Accounting designation (CPA, CMA, CGA or CA) accredited with the Canadian Professional Accountants Association

  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in a senior accounting or financial management role with some experience in human resources

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Impeccable analytical and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines

  • Self-motivated and self-directed

  • Ability to work closely with a senior management team

  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to achieve company objectives.

Salary commensurate with experience.

$73,000 - $100,000
